St Michael’s Hospice sentenced for fire safety breaches – Fine: £250,000

Lewes Crown Court has today (28 March 2018) imposed a fine of £250,000 on St Michael’s Hospice Hastings and Rother in relation to offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The Company was also ordered to pay costs.

On 6 March 2018, the Hospice pleaded guilty to two breaches in fire safety law which relate to the hospice’s overall failure to take general fire precautions to ensure the safety of its employees, residents and visitors.
